Welcome to the Melbourne Victory Pre-Academy Regional Program for Albury-Wodonga!

The 2019 program focuses on boys aged 8-12 (U9-U12) and girls aged 8-13 (U9-U14), and looks at identifying the best talent in Victoria with the eldest age group trialling for the MVFC Academy U13s and U14s teams based on recommendations.

The program will run across Monday, July 8 and Tuesday, July 9 during the Victorian School holidays, and we are confident each child will enjoy the program and develop in a way that suits their own personal characteristics.

The key outcome is to develop their ‘love for the game’ to enhance their football experience and ensure they become motivated to improve.

Currently we are operating in the below regions:
Point Cook
Albury and Wodonga

In 2020 the program will target the same player age group, however with a focus on what is known as the Skill Acquisition Phase of development.

This is a ‘golden window’ of cognitive development when young players start to solve problems and are able to work cooperatively – developing techniques to be applied in the execution of football actions in order to overcome football problems.

It also helps young players develop and apply the core skills when players have the ball and don’t have the ball (BP and BPO).

The eldest age group will trial for the MVFC Academy U13s and U14s teams year on year based on recommendations from MVFC coaches.

The PAC program is designed to support the players learning and development processes and we encourage all players to maintain the playing and training programs with their local clubs.
